RULES and GUIDELINES for the Sixes ES Spirit Rock
- Sign-Up: Reserve the day you want your rock displayed during school. You may start painting the evening before the date you reserved the rock at 5 PM.
EXAMPLE: If your reservation date is September 15th, you can paint after 5 PM on September 14th. Your design will be showcased until 5 PM on September 15th.
- Payment: Payment is due within one week of booking. Late payments will forfeit your reservation. Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Supplies and Cleanup: Families must provide their own labor, paint, and supplies. Wear old clothes! Only the rock may be painted. Please avoid damaging the surrounding area and ensure all trash is cleaned up afterward. Recycle empty paint cans to help protect the environment.
- Content Guidelines: The school is not responsible for unauthorized painting over your design. Prohibited content includes profanity, offensive messages, commercial advertising, and political statements. The school reserves the right to remove any inappropriate content.
- Liability: The family painting the rock assumes responsibility for any injuries or damages that occur.
- Weather Policy: No refunds will be issued for bad weather. If wet, towel-dry the rock before painting; paint adheres even in rain or snow.
PAINTING and DESIGN Tips
- Recommended Paint: Use premium spray paint (e.g., Rustoleum). You will likely need 2-3 cans for a solid base coat and additional paint for your design.

Design Approach: After completing the base coat, sketch your design with chalk, focusing on large shapes for visibility. Use spray paint for larger areas and touch up with a paintbrush for details.
- Cleanup Essentials: Bring paper towels for drips and a cup of water if using a paintbrush. Wearing gloves will help keep your hands clean.
